ScandMar has been founded by a group of persons having a solid background in the construction and real estate business. Based on personal knowledge and good contacts in Morocco, the founders have since 2005 analyzed the analyzed the market and the conditions for real estate investments in Morocco.
The market possibilities can be concluded as follows:
• Morocco has a strong and well-pronounced plan for the development of the tourism and related real estate projects. The target is to almost double the number of tourists between 2005 and 2010.
• Morocco will within the next few years be developed into a very strong alternative to other secondary house markets such as Spain, Thailand, Bulgaria and Brazil.
• Real estate companies from Spain, France, Italy, Belgium, the Emirates and the UK are currently establishing a presence in the market with a number of development projects under construction.
• The prices of land are still relatively low. The same applies to the cost of construction.
The founders of ScandMar have spent considerable time in establishing local contacts and have been able to identify a number of suitable development projects in Marrakech, Tanger, Casablanca, Tetouan and also other potential places.
